Growing up with many musical genre influences such as soca, reggae, dancehall and hip hop, Blaqrose’s focus has always been to hone in his deejay skills to establish his signature vibrant Caribbean mixed with main stream street style.
Currently holding down the week night late shift on Barbados’ Slam 101.1 FM, Blaqrose has unarguably become the household name across the Caribbean blazing the latest soca, reggae, hip hop, top 40 and R&B tracks. Apart from parties, festivals and carnival events he has also done corporate events with KIA Motors, Motions Hair Care and various entertainment events in the USA including Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire’s ‘Rum & Bass’ Party.
Blaqrose credits sound systems such as Metromedia, Stone Love, Bass Odyssey and Black Chiney, as well as deejays like Tony Matterhorn, Major Lazer and Calvin Harris as his musical influences. “The vibe, the energy… teaches me how I can be different in Barbados as both a deejay by myself and with my sound system Stereo Love.”
With his sights set on expansion into the international music arena, Blaqrose Supreme drops his own soca edit mixes which are always well-received by his loyal fans.
